France and Jordan to Palestinian

"France will work in the next few days with Jordan to carry out a humanitarian operation in Gaza," the French Presidency's office wrote on December 27, 2023.

The French Air Force, in collaboration with the Jordanian Army, has landed several shipments of humanitarian food and medical aid in the Gaza Strip.

French and Jordanian air forces dropped 7 tons of humanitarian and emergency medical aid at a Jordanian field hospital, established in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

As an indication of difficulties in channeling aid to Gaza, some international efforts were forced to drop supplies from the aircraft.

France announced on Friday that French and Jordanian C-130 dropped a total of seven tons of medical aid to a Jordanian field hospital in the southern town of Khan Younis in a joint operation last night.
"The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains critical," French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday at X before Twitter.

"In a difficult context, France and Jordan are helping the people."

The air delivery, the first by a Western country in the Gaza Strip, was approved during Macron's recent visit to Jordan, where he met with King Abdullah II last month.
Macron had a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

On the occasion, Macron urged Netanyahu to implement a lasting ceasefire in Gaza.

According to a statement released by the French Presidency, in talks with Netanyahu, Macron also expressed deep concern over the deaths of civilians and the humanitarian emergency in Gaza.
